Shelley Johnson

Head of Market Insights, Newcastle Gateshead Initiative

Shelley is a Chartered Marketer and member of the Market Research Society (MRS). She joined NGI in 2007 after finishing her MA in Event and Conference Management at Northumbria University. In her time with the company, she has led numerous marketing projects and campaigns for cultural festivals and events, short breaks, and business events. In recent years, as NGI’s remit has grown, Shelley has led work to inform regenerative visitor economy strategies across North East England, focusing on how to manage tourism and events to increase positive economic, social and environmental impacts.
