Keynote: Creating a work culture and environment to support wellness and deal with stress
One of the most toxic and infamous work environments in cultural history is at the fictional Runway Magazine in “The Devil Wears Prada”. While Runway Magazine is an extreme example of workplace stress, it is illustrative of the types of stressors that we face at work. Workplace stress is one of the most common problems employees and employers face today with over 40% of employees considering their jobs stressful. According to the World Health Organisation, workers who are stressed are more likely to be unhealthy, unmotivated, less productive and less safe in the workplace. The speaker will discuss how workplace stress can be addressed through wellness initiatives aimed at the helping the individual. They will also focus on organisational approaches to stress mitigation, through a healthy work environment and culture.
